At the end of November 2022, the girls had their chance to represent Rosehill Junior School in the U11s tournament held at Rotherham Hockey Club.

The team consisted of a mixture of Y5 and Y6 girls who had been training at the after school hockey club.

The girls made their way to the tournament, accompanied by Mr MacDonald and Mr Wilkinson and they were a credit to the school. They didn't manage to win any of their games but they improved in every game they played and enjoyed a shared experience in a very friendly but competitive environment.

The girls had the following to say about their experience:

Leah - I enjoyed competing against other schools.

Ruby - I enjoyed spending time with new friends both at the after school club and the competition.

Willow - I enjoyed the change from normal school lessons. It was nice to be at the competition with my friends.

Lexey - I enjoyed the competitive element of the day.

Olivia - Using different tactics for different positions was something I found challenging and enjoyable in equal measure.

Georgina - I liked playing the games but also spending time with Mr MacDonald and Mr Wilkinson.

Phoebe W - I liked working as a team together.

Skye - I got to spend time with new people who I wouldn't normally hang around with.

Helesha - I enjoyed being part of a club with other girls.

Well done girls, I was extremely proud of you and the way you conducted yourself today.

Mr Mac
