School Sports Showcase Event - March 2023
On Tuesday 21st March a group of 15 excited children left school with Mr Wilkinson and Mrs Stringer and made their way to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield to take part in the school sports showcase event.
The event was organised to give children opportunities to try sports they might not previously have had the opportunity to try.
Upon arrival, the children were paired with children from Thrybergh and they then tried a variety of sporting activities. Some of these were showcased by world champions which only added to the excitement levels of the children.
Logan - I enjoyed going on the scooters.
Dara - I enjoyed going on the scooters because it was my first time ever on a scooter.
Brayleigh - I liked the skipping and I thought I was pretty good at it.
Mason - I like the taekwondo because I liked doing the kicks and punches.
Terry - I liked the freestyle football because I could do almost every trick.
Mia - I really enjoyed going on the scooters because the man who was teaching us pretended we were in the army.
Layla - I liked the scooters, particularly when Mr Wilkinson fell off!
Elsie - I enjoyed kinball because it was something new that I've never tried before.
Lily - I enjoyed the archery because they told us how to use the bow properly. Our instructor was a seven time world champion!
Jasmine - I enjoyed the freestyle football because I learnt nearly every trick.
Cal - I enjoyed the taekwondo because it was really fun to learn how to kick and punch properly.
Kyan - I enjoyed the boxing because it is just my thing!
Sofia - I enjoyed the freestyle football because we got to learn new tricks.
Alfie - I liked the freestyle football because I got nearly all the tricks right.
The children were a credit to Rosehill during the day. Both Mrs Stringer and Mr Wilkinson said how proud they were of the children and their behaviour whilst they were at the EIS.
