Week 8 - Autumn 1 - Update

Here is your weekly update for the final week of Autumn 1 - Week 8

Week 8- Update

We made it! After a long 8 weeks, we have finally approached half term where the children can have a well deserved rest. They have worked so hard and have shown so much determination and resilience with their learning over this half term. The transition to 'big' school can be difficult for some children but they have all handled it incredibly well and positively.

Notices:
🛑 Children must come to school in uniform on PE days. We have changing facilities were the children will change into their PE kits and then get back changed for classroom learning. This helps promote independence and develop life skills.
🛑 Children need a water bottle with them in school everyday and a coat.
🛑Tuck shop is available everyday with items priced at 40p alternatively you can send your child to school with a nut free snack such as a breakfast bar or fruit.
🛑We have a child in school with a severe nut allergy so please refrain from sending your child to school with any nut based products in their packed lunch.
🛑PE day for Y3 is Monday and Wednesday. Your child will need a white t- shirt, black shorts and appropriate footwear (trainers or pumps)
🛑 If your child has asthma please ensure that you have completed a medication form at the main office and that you have supplied school with an inhaler which has been prescribed by your doctor and is in date.
🛑 The weather is very unpredictable at the moment, so children need to ensure that are coming to school in suitable footwear and a waterproof coat.

When we return after the holidays, we will be learning about the following:

⭐️ English/Reading - the children will be working within their groups on comprehension/ phonics skills.
⭐️Maths - We will be continuing work on addition and subtraction and looking at different ways to solve calculations.
⭐️PSHE - We will be starting our new topic which is all about celebrating differences.
⭐️RE - We are looking at Christianity and if Christmas has lost its true meaning.
⭐️ DT- All Y3 will be starting their DT project. We won't be giving too much away about this as the end product will be a nice surprise.
⭐️Music - We will be learning our songs for the Christmas performances and we will also be learning the song 'Three Little Birds' as part of our music project.
⭐️Geography - We will be continuing our project on extreme weather.

Special Mentions: Well done to the following children who were awarded a special mention this week.

We hope you all have a wonderful half term and the children enjoy the spooky season and also have a well deserved break.
When we return, we will be throwing ourselves into lots more hard work and the Christmas festivities will begin.
