Children

Week 4 - Summer 2

Here is your weekly round-up!

Weekly Update – Summer 2, Week 5

This week has really flown by. It’s been an emotional week as we said goodbye to our amazing Y6 children, who have been the best role models for our younger children. We wish them all the best as they embark on their next adventure.

Our children will remain with us for the next two weeks, and then they will be transitioning to their new classes with their new teachers on Monday 14th July 2025. They will complete a full week before we break up at 1.15pm on Friday the 18th July for the summer break.

Your children were informed yesterday whose class they will be in and which peers they are with. Parents/carers should have also received an email regarding this.

Next week, the children will be learning the following:

English - The children will be writing up their recounts and publishing them in best.

Maths - We are moving onto statistics in maths where the children will be looking at different ways of presenting data, e.g. bar graphs etc.

Guided Reading - We will be exploring a new text and answering questions on vocabulary, inference and retrieval.

D&T - The children will be starting to make their felt cases and mastering stitching.

PSHE - As transition is quickly approaching, we are working with the children on change and embracing this positively.

Geography - See us continue our Amazon Rainforest project which the children are thoroughly enjoying.

PE - Games are on the agenda and the children will be playing a variety of different games and events on the field and MUGA.

Just a polite reminder. The weather is beautiful at the moment, and we really love to get the children out in the sunshine and enjoy the wonderful space we have. We cannot do this as much as we would like as we have many children arriving at school with no water bottle or sun hat. Could parent/carers please ensure their child has a water bottle in school and also a hat. If suncream could be applied before school, that would be great. Thank you in advance for this.

Have a lovely weekend and we will see you on Monday.
