Weekly Update

Autumn 2, Week 4
Weekly Update
It’s been an exciting week for all children here at Rosehill with the pantomime arriving into school. Oh no, it hasn’t! Oh yes, it has! The children have also been working really hard so read on to find out what we’ve been learning about this week.
Maths
In maths, we have continued our multiplication and division unit investigating patterns between the 3, 6 and 9 times table. We had a fantastic lesson today as children have multiplied and divided by 7.
English
This week, we have finished identifying the features of a narrative before comparing how effective two different narratives are. We then spent time working on using the correct punctuation for direct speech (homework to follow!)
Reading
In guided reading, our text has focused on the River Nile and the River Thames. We have used our vocabulary, retrieval and inference skills to good effect this week.
Geography
This week, we looked at flooding and the impact recent floods have had in our local area. This has helped prepare us for our fieldwork lesson next week.
Science
In science, we investigated pitch using guitars and glockenspiels to make both high notes and low notes.
PE
There were some excellent moves on display in our dance lesson this week as children demonstrated an ability to follow a simple routine.
DT
The children have worked hard on making the mechanisms that they intend to use with their moving cards.
Special mentions this week went to Ethan G and Brian M in 4H, alongside Harry M and Tyler M in 4P for their hard work and attitude to learning this week. Well done to you all!
Thank you all for your continued support.
