Autumn Term - Week 5

🍂 Year 6 Weekly Update – Another Busy Week! 🍂
It’s been another busy and productive week in Year 6, with lots of fantastic learning taking place across the curriculum!
✍️ Writing
This week, we’ve been busy planning our next diary entry. We’re going to be writing in role as Harry Potter, focusing on the incredible day he discovers he is a wizard, leaves with Hagrid and gets his first glimpse of the magical world of Diagon Alley. 🪄⚡
➗ Maths
We’ve been exploring factors, multiples and prime numbers, as well as learning and applying different rules of divisibility. We also completed our weekly arithmetic paper and continued working hard to improve our scores. 🧮
📚 Reading
Our journey through Room 13 has continued… and things are certainly getting strange at the Crow’s Nest Hotel! 👀 We’ve been using our reading skills to explore the mysterious events and make predictions about what might happen next.
It has also been fantastic to see so many reading records coming into school and so many pupils regularly reading at home. Thank you for continuing to support reading at home – well done, everyone! 📖👏
🏃 PE
We’ve continued our fitness journey, with this week’s sessions focusing on improving our strength. The children have worked hard to challenge themselves and develop their overall fitness. 💪
🧬 Science
As part of our Evolution and Inheritance topic, we’ve been researching how different animals have adapted to survive in their environments. We’ve also considered what adaptations animals might need if they were placed in different habitats. 🐪🐻❄️🦎
🧩 Jigsaw
In Jigsaw, we’ve been thinking about our learning goals for the year. We discussed some of the barriers we might face along the way and, importantly, the strategies we can use to overcome them and keep moving towards our goals.
⭐ Stars of the Week ⭐

6M – Aleiyah B 🌟
A huge well done to both of you!
