📚✨ A Brilliant First Week in Year 6! ✨📚

We’ve had such a great first week back in Year 6 and are so happy to welcome everyone into school again. 🌟

This week we’ve:
📖 Jumped straight into our reading sessions, exploring our class book Room 13 by Robert Swindells — all about a school residential to Whitby.
✍️ Used Whitby Abbey as inspiration to write spooky and atmospheric setting descriptions.
➗ Completed our maths baseline assessments — we are so impressed with the effort, focus, and dedication shown by every single pupil. 👏

🧳✨ Whitby Residential – Important Reminders ✨🧳

✅ Medical forms – Any incomplete forms must be returned by Monday. If you are having difficulties, please let us know.

✅ Kit checks – Thank you to those who have already brought kits in. Any remaining kits should be brought to school on Monday for checking. Again, if you’re having any issues with items, please speak to us.

🕗 Tuesday morning – School will be open from 8:00am for children attending the residential. This gives us time to complete final checks. The bus will depart by 9:00am.

💰 Spending money – Children may bring up to £10 in a named wallet, purse, or envelope. This will be handed to teachers before setting off.

📵 No electronic devices – Please remember these are not to be brought on the trip. An emergency contact number will be shared with parents, and updates will be posted on Dojo throughout each day.

🚌 Return to school – We are set to leave Whitby on Friday at 1:00pm and should arrive back at school between 3:30pm and 4:00pm. This is traffic dependent, and we will update you via Dojo if there are any changes.
