Diversity Week

As part of Diversity Week, the children in Year 5 have been exploring a range of diverse artists and artistic styles from around the world. Through studying different forms of artwork, the children learnt how artists use colour, pattern, symbolism, and creativity to express identity, culture, and important messages about inclusion and equality.
Inspired by the artists and styles they explored, the children then created their own diversity-themed pieces of artwork. They carefully considered how to represent individuality, acceptance, and the importance of celebrating differences within our communities.
The classroom was filled with creativity and thoughtful discussion throughout the week, and the children showed great enthusiasm and pride in their work. It has been wonderful to see such imaginative and meaningful pieces of art produced, each reflecting the children’s growing understanding of diversity and respect for others.
