Children

End of Summer 2 Week 3 Messages and Updates

What an amazing week we have had this week. The children have worked extremely hard during their assessments to showcase the progress they have made this year and we are very proud of them.

We had a lovely treat when England decided to win their opening game of the world cup - it's fair to say that world cup fever is definitely spreading around the children now!

We've then had the most amazing end to the week with a fantastic author visiting us and treating us to one of the best assemblies of the year before returning the following day to sign books for the children!

As well as that, we have really enjoyed our Spanish day to end the week on such a high - the outfits have been great and the children have enjoyed a range of different activities.

Congratulations to our winners of special mentions awards this week: Aleiyah, Lola F, Daisy, and Olivia W.

In geography this week, we enjoyed thinking about how a changing Rotherham contributes to global issues.

In D+T this week, we designed our own night lights - thinking about using simple shapes and colours effectively to create a night light for a child of our choice.

In music, we enjoyed performing a song from Matilda as part of our musical theatre unit of work.

Next week, we are getting back to 'normal' lessons but there are still some exciting things to look forward to for the children including making our night lights on Wednesday and a local walk in our geography lesson on Friday.
