Cracking Science

This week, the children have been investigating the anatomy of an egg as part of their unit on living things and their habitats, with a particular focus on the life cycles of birds and reptiles. The children took part in a hands-on investigation where they carefully cracked open an egg and explored its different features, including the chalaza, albumen, germinal disc, inner membrane, and air sac. Through this activity, the children developed their understanding of how eggs support the growth and development of living organisms.
