Towers of Teamwork

In PSHE this week, the children explored what it really means to work and learn as a team. They thought carefully about what makes teamwork successful — including communication, cooperation, listening to others, and making sure everyone has a role to play.

To put their ideas into practice, the children were challenged to build the tallest tower they could using only paper and tape. The first attempt was wonderfully chaotic, with lots of ideas and strategies flying around. Afterwards, the children reflected on how the activity made them feel and what could be improved.

When they tried again, this time giving each team member a specific role, the difference was amazing! The groups were far more organised, everyone knew what to do, and the towers grew taller and stronger than before.

It was fantastic to see the children recognising how important communication, planning, and teamwork are when working together. Their reflections showed real maturity and understanding — and they had a lot of fun in the process!
