This week has been slightly less hectic but no less fun as we've made lots of progress in our lessons and held our first round of meet the teacher appointments. Thanks to everyone who booked a meeting with us - it was great to meet so many of you and share all the positive messages we had about your children.

This week, we've really enjoyed getting back to 'normal' routines, coming into the classroom and hitting the ground running each day. We've given out so many dojos for children working at home, working hard in the classroom and being positive role models so a massive well done to the children.

We've also had so many children logging their home reading on Boomreader so thank you to all the parents/carers for their support with this.

P.E. kit - it is getting colder now so jogging bottoms/jumpers are a great idea to include for P.E. kit on Tuesday.

Times tables - please spend a little time each night practising times table questions with the children. They will come home have a range of strategies they have been taught at school including singing, chanting and learning their table facts by rote. We apologise for ruining any nursery rhymes for you by turning them into times table songs.

Next week:

We have our whole school Halloween disco on Tuesday - £1 entry and then plenty of drinks and snacks are available. The children are allowed to come to school wearing their outfits so we expect a very spooky day!

In English, we will continue with our character description genre of writing.

In guided reading, we will continue answering questions based around our text, Percy Jackson - Lightning Thief.

In maths, we will continue our multiplication and division topic of work.

In history, we will conclude our topic on Ancient Greece and assess the children's understanding of the unit.

In P.E., we will have our final lessons from our two units, tag rugby and fitness.

In science, we will look at reversible and irreversible changes.

In PSHE, we will conclude our unit of work - being me in my world.

In Spanish, we will conclude our unit of work looking at pets.

In Art, we will make our final prints using repeating patterns.
