As we get closer to the end of half term, the learning certainly hasn’t slowed down! The children have worked incredibly hard this week and have lots to celebrate. In English, we have started a new genre of writing: diary entries! The children have done brilliantly learning about the key features of a diary entry and identifying them within a text. Their focus when comparing two different diary entries was absolutely fantastic! In maths, we have continued to develop our addition and subtraction skills, with a particular focus on using the formal written methods accurately. The children have worked hard to apply these methods and show their mathematical understanding.
In our Spanish lesson, The children did a brilliant job recapping their learning from last week and bringing it all together to hold conversations with their classmates. It was wonderful to see them putting their Spanish into practice with such confidence! ¡Fantástico! In our art lesson, we have completed our artwork this week and the results are fantastic! The children used their polystyrene printing tiles to apply paint before printing their designs onto paper. We have some wonderful creations, and the children should be very proud of their finished pieces!
We also welcomed PC Paul, who spoke to the children about staying safe during Halloween and Bonfire Night. They learnt about firework safety, the importance of being respectful when trick-or-treating and the stop, drop and roll technique. Some children even had the opportunity to demonstrate this action! A very useful and engaging assembly.
🎃 A little reminder… Our Halloween disco takes place next Tuesday! Children are welcome to come dressed in their Halloween outfits or costumes. We look forward to seeing their spooky creations! 👻
Special Mentions:
Special mentions this week went to Khairat B and Reece G in 4H, and Harper S in 4P for their effort and attitude this week. A big well done to you all!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Warm regards,
