What a fun-filled week it has been for Year 4! Whether it was the excitement of our residential in Castleton or resourcing, preparing and performing a play, all our Year 4 children have had a very busy and tiring week.

In Castleton, we explored the hidden depths of Speedwell Cavern (over 200m below the ground). We hiked our way up Mam Tor in the driving wind and rain to be greeted by a rainbow just before we got to the top. We learnt how to be expert archers and den builders, all while spending three days in the company of our friends, classmates and teachers. We are so proud of the resilience and determination shown by all the children and there were lots of positive comments from members of the public, staff at YHA and shop assistants who commented on the good manners on display. Well done everyone!

Back in school, the children have really enjoyed putting together all the props, rehearsing the scenes and narration, and staging the play, ‘The Pied Piper’. Mrs Bourke commented on how well-behaved and engaged the children have all been during the week so a huge well done to those children!

Spelling test will be back from next week so please look out for new spellings posted to Class Dojo.

Special Mentions:
It has been really hard to choose Always and Special Mention children after a week like this so a very big well done to Lottie B and Alice S in 4H, and Erin D and Hudson W in 4P, who are our first Always children of the year.
