End of Summer 2 Week 4 Messages and Updates

Wow! That was a warm week! The children have done extremely well this week to keep going in very challenging conditions.
We've enjoyed talking about the topic of diversity this week and everyone being valued as a person as well as our more 'normal' lessons.
Congratulations to our winners of special mentions awards this week: Jake, Theo, Jacob and Sam.
In English this week, we have started studying a new genre - persuasive letters. We've started by looking at a couple of different examples and comparing them.
In maths this week, we have looked at converting between different units of measure.
In guided reading, we are getting towards the end of our novel now and it is coming to what promises to be an exciting conclusion. We are still refining our answers to guided reading texts.
In geography this week, we enjoyed looking at the local businesses in Rawmarsh and thinking about why they are there.
In D+T this week, we put our designs onto our frames for our night lights. They are looking good at the moment and we are looking forward to adding the finishing touches to them next week.
In music, we enjoyed adapting a song from Matilda as part of our musical theatre unit of work, creating our own lyrics and performing to the rest of the class.
In PSHE, we thought about what challenges we might face next year and then discussed how we might overcome these.
In R.E., we looked at the Sanatani belief that Brahman is one God with many different attributes which are worshipped in their own right.
Next week, we are really looking forward to finding out our new classes - watch out for this information on Friday.
