Weekly Update

Summer 2, Week 3.

Weekly Update

It’s been an action-packed week at Rosehill. Children have been working really hard during their final assessment week in Year 4 and we’ve had a special visit from renowned author, Peter Murray.

Today has been a wonderful celebration of all things Spanish as school came together to celebrate ‘Spanish Day’. Children have taken part in a variety of different activities, rotating around classrooms and teachers, with something different to experience in each one. What a wonderful way to celebrate another culture and the country whose language we study at Rosehill! Here’s what else we’ve been up to this week:

Science
In science, we continued our unit on Living Things by exploring different animal habitats.

Geography
In geography, we looked at the development of mining communities and how this happened in Rawmarsh. Children considered what else would be needed as these communities began to grow.

Music
It was the second lesson in our new samba unit and children focused on finding different beats whilst singing at the same time.

PE
We continued our preparation for Sports Day as well as developing our swimming technique. Children have all progressed well from their starting points during swimming this term.

Special mentions were a little different this week so congratulations to Arlo C and Chase M-F in 4H, along with Harry M and Matthew W in 4P who all earned class special mentions this week. Congratulations also to Charles P and Coby-Lee W who both earned Spanish Day special mentions for their engagement throughout the day. A big well done to you all!

Thank you all for your continued support.
