Week 1 - Spring 2

Here is your weekly round-up of the 1st week of the new half-term (Spring 2)

Weekly Update - Week 1 - Spring Term 2

What a first week back. As always, it was lovely to see the children return to school with smiles on their faces and ready to embrace the challenges ahead. Thank you to all the parents and carers for sending the children to school looking so amazing for TT Rockstar Day - they all looked awesome. If you can actively encourage them to log on and at home and battle this week. Year 3 want to be crowned victorious this time !

Here is a sneak preview of what will be coming up:

Maths
The children will continue their work on length and perimeter.

English
Miss Brown's group will be writing a persuasive leaflet inviting people to visit Egypt. Mrs Pritchard and some of our other phonics groups, will continue working on their RWI programmes.

Reading
Miss Brown's group will be answering a variety of questions based on a new text. Mrs Pritchard's and the other phonics groups will continue consolidating their sounds and applying them to a variety of different texts.

Geography
The children will be starting their new topic all about Landmarks.

Science
This half term sees a new project begin all about animals including humans.

D & T
We will be switching art to design and technology where the children will be embarking on a food project. No big spoilers as we want to see the children's faces. (Please keep up with dojo and emails from the teachers regarding any allergies or special dietary requirements).

Music
Music begins this half term where the children will explore a range on instruments and learn lots of musical vocabulary.

RE
RE will continue with the children learning about Good Friday and the importance of this time of year.

Special mentions this week went to Brody and Harper S in 3B, alongside Leah and Phoebe (3P) for their overall effort and attitude to learning during this new term. Congratulations to all of you!

Just a polite reminder that next Thursday , 5th of March, it is world book day and the children are invited to come into school dressed as their favourite book characters.

Take care,
Miss Brown and Mrs Pritchard
