End of Spring 1 Week 5 Messages and Updates

What an amazing week we had in year five last week: number day was great fun, reading aloud was great and the children had a wonderful time working on their filming techniques.
Thank you to all the parents who have been sending in pictures on classdojo of the children and their home interests. It is always a really nice part of the day when we stop and share these things with the class. We enjoyed seeing pets, children baking, achievements at after school clubs/competitions and much more over the past few weeks - please keep sharing these moments with us.
Looking forward to our final week of the half term, we have some lovely things planned. We are going to be taking part in safer Internet day, we have our Valentines disco on Tuesday night and we are looking forward plenty of great work being produced before we take a well deserved break.
In English, we will compare different balanced discussions before completing our own sections.
In maths, we will be looking at fractions and decimals.
In guided reading, we are looking to refine our answers and ensure that they use evidence from the text to support them.
In handwriting, we will be looking to build on our accurate letter formation and apply this to writing Y3/4 spellings.
In science, we will conclude our Earth and Space unit of work.
In computing, we will look at editing and improving videos.
In art, we will complete our collages based on 'Tiger in a Tropical Storm'.
In history, we will think about which ruler we would have most liked to live under - be it Anglo-Saxons, Vikings or Normans.
Here's hoping for a great end to the half term!
