Continental Drift

This week, Year 5 used play dough models to explore how tectonic plates move and why the continents drift. Pupils shaped different coloured dough into plates, fitting them together like a giant Earth jigsaw.
They then pushed, pulled, and slid their plates to see what happens at different boundaries—creating “mountains,” “earthquakes,” and “new crust.”
This hands-on activity helped everyone clearly understand continental drift while having lots of fun. Great work, Year 5!
