Summer 1 - Week 2 - Weekly Update

Here is a round up of week 2 of the summer term.

Weekly Update – Summer 1, Week 2

Well, week 2 was a very different week for most of the Y3 children as they embarked upon their first residential adventure. We hope you enjoyed all the pictures and dojo posts keeping you updated.

The children who didn't attend the residential also had a great couple of days and made a wonderful impression on the staff they worked with.

Here's a round up of what the children did whilst they were in school:

Maths:
Maths saw the children continue their work on mass and capacity, specifically grams and kilograms.

English:
The children created the final version of their weather-related shape poem and the outcomes were fantastic.

Reading:
During guided reading, the children started their new book 'Escape to Pompeii'.

PE:
In athletics, the children worked on using specific skills and also started their new topic.

PSHE:
Our Jigsaw lesson this week focused on what makes a good friend.

Spanish:
Spanish is back on the weekly timetable and the children continued to learn about fruits and vegetables.

Art:
A firm favourite of the children is Art and this half-term we are looking at the artist John Dyer and replicating his work using oil pastels. The children were taught some different techniques which they would apply to their final piece.

We hope the children are having a lovely, restful weekend, and we will see them all Monday morning.

Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Brown and Mrs Pritchard
