Welcome to year 4!
This year our team comprises of Mr MacDonald, Mr Curtis, Mrs Hepworth, Miss Swallow and Mr Wilkinson.
Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday but we ask that children have their P.E. kits in school Monday to Friday.
Our project for the Autumn term is entitled 'Bring the Noise!' After learning how sounds are made and how humans hear them, we will be listening to a range of music before evaluating the instruments we have in school all in order to create our own musical instruments which we will then use to create a soundtrack to the Iron Man. How exciting!
Our novel study for the Autumn term is the afore-mentioned Iron Man by Ted Hughes.
Also in the Autumn term, we have our fantastic residential visit to Castleton where the children are given the chance to explore the only caves in the country where Blue John can be found as well as participating in team building exercises. This is the first of the residential visits offered to them at Rosehill and is a wonderful opportunity for them to develop their independence and confidence in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our new style homework menu is now available online (as well as the children having a copy in their books). Homework tasks can be taken from the menu and completed at any point during the week. Homework will be collected in on Tuesdays and dojo points will be awarded accordingly for children completing tasks.
As well as the homework tasks, we are expecting children to be reading 5 times a week at home, and again, dojo points will be awarded to those children who complete this task.
We are looking forward to an excellent year working in partnership with parents to maximise the progress and attainment for your children by giving them a range of exciting learning opportunities.
